KazTEA Конференция «Excellence in English Teaching and Research for better learning outcomes» предназначена для повышения уровня преподавания английского языка в РК, основанного на развитии компетентности общения на англ.яз., а также развить активную позицию учителя при обмене своим опытом.

Те участники, кто желает опубликовать свои выступления, должны представить их в Оргкомитет до 25 марта 2015г. на электронную почту KazTEA_2014_paper@gmail.com

Доклады, объемом 3-6 страниц, будут опубликованы с IBSN на веб-сайтах KazTEA и университетов-партнеров. Статьи могут быть написаны в трех форматах: исследовательская статья, описание педагогического опыта и комментарии, в одном из 3-х языках: английском, казахском и русском языках. Пожалуйста, убедитесь, что статья отражает ваше исследование и имеет аннотацию. Ясность высказывания, оригинальность, значимость, и подробное описание своего исследования будут приниматься во внимание оргкомитетом при принятии решения. Все материалы будут проверяться на оригинальность/плагиат. Авторы несут полную ответственность за содержание статьи, пунктуацию, стилистику и грамматическую грамотность.

2) Описание педагогического опыта:

Описание отражает педагогический опыт в учебном классе/аудитории на основе учебной деятельности и исследования по одной из тематик, которые непосредственно связанны с реалиями преподавания иностранных языков в Вашем регионе.

Структура описания:

а) хорошо изученный обзор литературы, который охватывает все аспекты, включенные в работу,

б) методология с подробным описанием сбора данных и / или подход, используемый в классе,

в) обсуждение, описание своего мнения по применению данного пед.эксперимента/приема,

д) заключение, которое должно включать в себя конкретные практические рекомендации, применимые в различных ситуациях

е) литература

Максимум 2500 слов.

3) Комментарий:

• Текущие вопросы, связанные с изучением и преподаванием языков

• Обсуждение языковой политики и связанные с этим последствия в регионе

• Национальные и международные стратегии, которые могут оказать влияние на обучения и / или преподавание в регионе и на международном уровне

Комментарий направлен на актуальные вопросы и ситуации в области преподавания англ.яз., по одной из тем выше изложенной, в регионе. Комментарий должен быть хорошо изучен и включать в себя ссылки, которые поддерживают и обосновывают основные моменты статьи. Комментарий нацелен на сбалансированный отчет и обсуждение текущих и возникающих вопросов в области преподавания англ.яз. в Республике Казахстан, а не на оспаривание данного вопроса.

Максимум 1500 слов.

Требования к оформлению:

1. Тексты докладов объемом не более 4 страниц (формата А4, включая рисунки и таблицы) должны быть набраны в текстовом редакторе Word. Для докладов на казахском, русском, английском – 14 шрифт «Times New Roman», «KZ Times New Roman», по ширине страницы и сохранены в формате *.rtf без указания номеров страниц.

Параметры страницы: все поля – 2 см.

2. Материал размещается в следующем порядке:

В левом верхнем углу указать УДК; через строку в центре – название статьи (прописными жирными буквами); через строку в центре – ученая степень, ученое звание и инициалы строчными буквами; в следующей строке в центре – название учебного заведения или организации, город, страна;

Через строку, курсивом, краткая аннотация/резюме, для докладов на русском языке Түйін и Abstract, для докладов на казахском языке Резюме и Summary, для докладов на английском языке Түйін и Резюме;

Через строку – основной текст, набранный с одинарным межстрочным интервалом; список использованных источников литературы, на который имеются ссылки в тексте в виде [1], указывается в конце основного текста с отступом в одну строку. Источники в списке литературы располагаются в той последовательности, в какой упоминаются в тексте и оформляются по следующим правилам: инициалы и фамилия автора(ов), название источника, место издания, издательство, год (для трудов конференций – город, страна, год), нумерация сквозная.

Обращаем Ваше внимание на необходимость представления материалов в тщательно отредактированном виде с соблюдением всех вышеуказанных требований.

Оргкомитет не несет ответственности за материалы, не содержащие научной новизны или оформленные с нарушением грамматики.

Applications and proposals for scholarships are due no later than

March 25, 2015.

We express our gratitude to the RELO Office, US Department of State for sponsoring scholarships for 25 participants from Kazakhstan

Scholarship Details: 22 scholarships for Kazakhstani residents will be awarded by the Regional English Language Office, U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan to selected participants. These scholarships include roundtrip domestic transportation and accommodations. Selection for these scholarships will be conducted by members of organizing committee and approved by the U.S. Embassy staff. Preferences will be given to awardees with a strong ability and opportunity to share their knowledge with others. Applicants that are not selected for full scholarships are still invited to apply to attend the conference at their own expense.

KazTEA Conference ‘Excellence in English Teaching and Research for better learning outcomes’ is designed to enhance competency-based EFL teaching as well as develop EFL teacher’s proactivity via sharing best practices.

VENUE AND DATES

The KazTEA 2015 conference will be held in Kostanay on April 28-29, 2015. The venue of the conference is A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University, a leading center of innovation in education, science and culture in the north of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Address: str. Baitursynov 47, Kostanay.

TYPES OF PROPOSALS

Demonstration (50-minute practical-oriented presentation): Shows, rather than tells, a technique for teaching or testing. The presenter should spend no more than 5 minutes explaining the theory underlying the technique. Handouts are expected and audiovisual aids are encouraged.

Paper (30-minute research-oriented presentation): An oral summary, with occasional reference to notes or a text that discusses the presenters’ work in relation to theory and/or practice. Handouts are expected and audiovisual aids are encouraged.

Poster Session (1 hour): The poster session is a self-explanatory exhibit that allows for informal discussion with participants. Exhibits are set up during the hour before the session and dismantled in the hour afterward. The poster should include a title, the name and institutional affiliation of the presenter(s), and a brief text with clearly labeled photos, drawings, graphs, or charts. Presenters are available for discussion. Detailed guidelines will be sent to accepted poster session presenters. First time attendees and graduate students are especially encouraged to apply for the poster session, which could serve as an important and interactive forum for sharing your work and receiving feedback. Handouts are expected.

Workshop (50 minutes): A carefully structured, hands-on professional development activity. The leader helps participants solve a problem or develop a specific teaching or research technique. Handouts are expected and audiovisual aids are encouraged.

SUBMISSION REQUIMENTS

All presenters must submit their application forms with abstracts to the Organizing Committee before March 25, 2015. We plan to place the abstracts in the conference program; therefore, each abstract must clearly reflect the content of the presentation and the targeted audience. The abstract should be written in one paragraph with full sentences.

Committee members evaluate the abstracts to accept or reject a proposal. Preferences will be given to the strong proposals that match the requirements of every type of presentation and reflect your title and objectives. The clarity and flow, originality, significance, and logical sequence of your proposal all effect the committee’s decision.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

Those who would like to have their papers published must submit them to the Organizing Committee to KazTEA2014paper@gmail.com . 3-6 page papers will be published online with an IBSN. Papers can be written in three formats: Research, Teaching Practice and Commentary, and in one of the 3 languages: English, Kazakh or Russian. All submissions will be checked for originality. Authors bear full responsibility for their paper content, punctuation, stylistic and grammatical organization.

CONFERENCE FEES: KZT 1000

The registration fee includes access to all the sessions, conference programs and certificate publication, conference materials and organizational expenses. The registration fee should be paid to the Organizing Committee upon arrival to Kostanay at the registration desk.

PROPOSAL DEADLINES

The deadline for submitting applications and papers is March 25, 2015. The notification of the participants selected by the Organizing Committee will be provided by April 3, 2014.

discussion
conclusion sections which should include specific, practical recommendations applicable in diverse contexts

3)COMMENTARY on:

Current issues related to language learning and language teaching
Discussion of language policy and related impact in the region
National and international policies, not limited to language policies, which may have an impact on the learning and/or teaching context in the region or internationally

Commentary focusing on current issues that relate to the topic areas in the region. Commentary should be well researched and include current references that support the main points of the paper. Commentary papers focus on a balanced report and discussion on current and emerging issues in Kazakhstan rather than on argumentation.

FORMATTING guidelines:

1. Please use A4 paper size, with all margins set at 2 sm.

2. Use Times New Roman 14 pt. font and single line spacing with 0 pt. spacing before and

after throughout the paper.

3. Papers should be saved in format *.rtf with no pages indicated

4. The layout of the page (see the Template) includes:

UDC is in the upper left corner; in a single interval there is the title (in italics, bold); in a single interval there is your academic title, academic degree and name. On the next line there is the name of the institution, city and country.

The paper should be preceded by an abstract in other two languages. For papers in the English language there should be an abstract in Kazakh (Түйін) and in Russian и (Резюме). For papers in Russian there should be an abstract in Kazakh (Түйін) and English (Summary). For papers in Kazakh there should be an abstract in Russian (Резюме) and English (Summary).

In a single interval there is a main text with single line spacing, list of reference used within the text and marked as [1]. References on the list are given in the order they are given in the text and have the following formatting: initial and family name of the author, title of source, place and publish house, year (for conference proceedings: city, country, year).

Title:Communicative Language Teaching into Practice

Title:Making Grammar (a Little) More Fun.

Title: Teaching the Whole Child

This hands-on seminar will define communicative language teaching and explore three key ideas that support its application in real classrooms. Participants will then try out some examples from English File 3^rd edition for themselves, and most importantly, reflect on how the ideas can be used in their own classes.

Students tend not to like grammar that much. This practical session will look at typical student concerns about grammar and explore ways that we as teachers can address them and encourage our students to embrace grammar a little more. We will also try out some examples from the Oxford English Grammar Course.

As teachers of English to young children, most of us would agree that we have a duty not just to teach the language, but to play a part in developing them into well-adjusted young people. This seminar will look at teaching the whole child by exploring how social and emotional education can be part of language teaching. We will look at examples from Family and Friends 2^nd edition.
